Vancouver Island Mental Health Society (VIMHS) is a nonprofit charitable society. It’s also a membership-based organization. Members of VIMHS are involved in volunteer work, board governance, fund raising, priority setting, and community education and outreach activities. Vancouver Island Mental Health Society members are invited to participate in various volunteer opportunities, including the board of directors (subject to nomination and election processes) and fundraising events. Volunteer positions may be short term, such as helping out during a single fundraiser, or longer term, such as taking on a project to write a series of newsletter articles or joining a committee working on a specific project.
